June 3!    Pizza!   On the farm!

Cress Spring Pizzeria will once again be serving them up on Wednesday, June 3, from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

Here’s how it works. Every Wednesday evening from May until October, we'll be selling flaming hot pizzas and delicious desserts, beer and wine, here at Cress Spring Farm. Picnic on our lawn or take your pizza to enjoy at home. Outdoor seating only - you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and warm friends to snuggle with. You should also bring whatever plates, cutlery, etc. that you might need for your picnic. Pizza will be served in boxes, beer and soda in bottles and wine by the bottle or glass. We will have mason jars available for wine, but we encourage you to bring your own. You may supplement your picnic with any salads or other food you wish to bring, but we ask that you not bring your own alcohol.

We’ll be featuring live music every week, and this week we welcome the Prairie Bayou Cajun Band, The four women of this band play and sing the foot stomping dance music of the French-speaking culture of Southwest Louisiana. This group doesn’t step far from the traditional Cajun repertoire, but do introduce twists in instrumentation and English-French word combination that make those tunes ever so slightly different from the usual fare. Come out and stomp your feet!

Thanks to last week's band, the Back Seat Serenaders!

Our menu for this week is below, and it's also posted on our Facebook page. We have a new summer pizza this week, the Afternoon Delight. With sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and both soppressata and prosciutto from Underground Meats, this pizza will remind you of a lazy afternoon in Venice.

Our wine list is in transition at the moment – we’ll be adding some new reds this week, and changing the whites next week, but you’ll just have to come on out to see what we have available.

Our beer list is also evolving. For this week, we’ve added Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale to replace the popular Nudge Nudge from Lake Louie, which is no longer available to us. We’ve also added Blue Peter from Lake Louie, a hoppy refreshing Dortmunder style export beer, perfect for a warm summer evening, and the Litta Bitta from Milwaukee Brewing Company, a citrusy Belgian Wit brewed with American hops and infused with lemongrass. We’ll also be adding a couple more non-alcoholic options soon, along with mead from the Bos Meadery in Madison. Stay tuned…

We hope to see you soon!
