June 10! Pizza! On the farm!
Cress Spring Pizzeria will once again be serving
them up on Wednesday, June 10, from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
Here’s
how it works. Every Wednesday evening from May until October,
we'll be selling flaming hot pizzas and delicious desserts, beer and wine, here
at Cress Spring Farm. Picnic on our lawn or take your pizza to enjoy at
home. Outdoor seating only - you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn
chairs, and warm friends to snuggle with. You should also bring whatever plates,
cutlery, etc. that you might need for your picnic. Pizza will be served in
boxes, beer and soda in bottles and wine by the bottle or glass. We will
have mason jars available for wine, but we encourage you to bring your own. You
may supplement your picnic with any salads or other food you wish to bring, but
we ask that you not bring your own alcohol.
We’ll be featuring live music every week, and this
week we welcome Brian Schwellinger, playing in the solo Quebecois fiddle style that originates from
the French Canadian Province of Quebec, Canada. Many of the tunes are out of
the common 4/4 -16-measure tune structure and are quite often called
"Crooked Tunes." The style of playing involves a syncopated foot
tapping done while playing the violin and most of the tunes are meant for
dancing and parties. The repertoire performed is unique to Quebec in content
and style, with tunes and influences from many other Celtic music traditions.
Last week we were serenaded by the Prairie Bayou Cajun Band...
...and even the kids got in on the fun.
Our menu for this week is below, and it's also
posted on our Facebook page. The Afternoon
Delight pizza was a big hit and will remain on the menu. We’re adding Strawberry Lemon Tarts to the dessert
menu this week.
In addition to a trio of new red wines, we’re
excited to add Pomegranite Pyment Mead
from Madison’s own Bos Meadery to our menu this week.
We’ll be adding one or two additional white wines
from Wollersheim also, and a few new beers, but haven’t quite finalized the
menu. We’re also adding Izze Sparkling Clementine
juice, for kids of all ages.
We hope to see you soon!
