May 13! Pizza! On the farm!
It's time for the grand re-opening of the Cress
Spring Pizzeria! We'll be serving them up this Wednesday, May 13, from
4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The weather forecast for Wednesday is looking like a
lovely spring evening.
Here’s
how it works. Every Wednesday evening from now until October,
we'll be selling flaming hot pizzas and delicious desserts, beer and wine, here
at Cress Spring Farm. Picnic on our lawn or take your pizza to enjoy at
home. Outdoor seating only - you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn
chairs, and warm friends to snuggle with. You should also bring whatever
plates, cutlery, etc. that you might need for your picnic. Pizza will be served
in boxes, beer and soda in bottles and wine by the bottle or glass. We
will have mason jars available for wine, but we encourage you to bring your
own. You may supplement your picnic with any salads or other food you wish to
bring, but we ask that you not bring your own alcohol.
We plan to feature live music every week, and we’re
starting off this week with Wrenclaw, playing as an acoustic duo. From their
website:
Blending country
harmonies and slithery slide guitars, they create a down-home, backwoods soul
shakedown.Wrenclaw captures the longing and redemption of one-horse towns and
whistlestop childhood memories. Dan Walkner’s voice shimmers and growls; his
timeless guitar slides and slurs with bottleneck flourishes. Wrenclaw digs deep
in gospel, delta, and back-country roots to create captivating moods.
Our menu for this week is below, and it's also
posted on our Facebook page. We have a couple new additions to our spring pizza
lineup, including the Asparagus Alfredo,
with tender young asparagus and marinated Sitka salmon, and the Breakfast For Dinner, with bacon,
potatoes, and eggs over easy to top it off. For dessert, we are featuring orange rhubarb tarts, made
with a gluten free almond shortbread, and ice cream sandwiches, made with our
own cookies and Sassy Cow vanilla ice cream.
To help us estimate our production needs, we are
asking that you please RSVP to csbakery@merr.com! No need
to tell us what you want ahead of time though, we are not taking advance pizza
orders. We will not be asking for an RSVP every week, but it will really
help us for the first week. We hope to see you soon!
