August 30! Pizza! On the farm!

Cress Spring Pizzeria will be serving them up on Wednesday, August 30, from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

For those who have never been here before, there’s a direct correlation between the weather and wait times for pizza. On a beautiful summer evening, you’ll want to get here as early as possible, or call ahead to order your pizza, otherwise you can expect to wait up to a couple hours to get your food. We have a large crew working as fast as we can, but the oven is a built in limit to how many pizzas we can crank out. Our goal is to get people through the order line in a hurry so they can relax on the lawn and enjoy the scenery and the music.

Our musical guest this week is Don’t Spook the Horse, an acoustic trio influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, and Leadbelly. The set list ranges from coal mining songs and murder ballads to wistful folk and doomy gospel. Everybody gather around the bonfire and get wistful.

The Aubergine pizza makes a comeback this week, featuring eggplant marinated in garlic and herbs, then fire-roasted in our oven, and topped with cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. On the dessert menu, we’ve brought back our house-made ice cream sandwiches, featuring chocolate sea salt cookies and wild mint ice cream. We’ll also have crème fraiche topped with some tasty Cinderella plums from Door County. Come and get some.

The Aubergine

Here’s how it works. Every Wednesday evening from May until October, we'll be selling flaming hot pizzas and delicious desserts, beer and wine, here at Cress Spring Farm. Picnic on our lawn or take your pizza to enjoy at home. Outdoor seating only - you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and warm friends to snuggle with. You should also bring whatever plates, cutlery, etc. that you might need for your picnic. Pizza will be served in boxes, beer and soda in bottles and wine by the bottle or glass. We will have mason jars available for wine, but we encourage you to bring your own. You may supplement your picnic with any salads or other food you wish to bring, but we ask that you not bring your own alcohol. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and chickens as payment. Our menu for this week is below, and it's also posted on our facebook page. We hope to see you soon!
