Cress Spring Pizzeria will be serving them up on Wednesday,
September 9, from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
Our last pizza night for the season will be
on Wednesday, October 22, so you still have plenty of time to make it.
We feature
live music every Wednesday, and this week we’re especially excited to welcome The Whiskey Farm. Playing
as an acoustic trio, the band features
multi-instrumentalists and layered harmonies in lyric-driven songs. The Onion
A.V. Club described The Whiskey Farm as “straddling the line between
bluegrass and folk, blending technical wows with accessible songwriting for
very pop-minded Americana.” The Americana Gazette wrote that they
have “great tunes, killer hooks, and fantastic harmonies.” This will be a great
show folks, come on out.
The Aubergine |
Meet the duchess! |
Our menu for this week is below, and it's also
posted on our Facebook page. No new pizzas this week, but we’ve improved the Aubergine, featuring eggplant marinated
in garlic and herbs, with a bit of Hook’s pecorino parmesan as a finishing
touch.
For our dessert pizza of the week, we’re sticking
with the Duchess. Loaded with fresh
peaches, house-smoked raspberry jam, toasted walnuts, and Hook’s gouda cheese,
this is the perfect way to end your evening. We’ll have this on the menu as
long as we can still get peaches for Door County.
We have a couple more new beers on the menu this
week, including Mudpuppy Porter from
Central Waters, and Island Orchard Brut
Hard Cider from Door County. We’re very excited about this cider…dry and
not too sweet, with the earthy flavor of freshly cut apples. Definitely a cut
above the average hard cider.
Here’s
how it works. Every Wednesday evening from May until October,
we'll be selling flaming hot pizzas and delicious desserts, beer and wine, here
at Cress Spring Farm. Picnic on our lawn or take your pizza to enjoy at
home. Outdoor seating only - you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn
chairs, and warm friends to snuggle with. You should also bring whatever
plates, cutlery, etc. that you might need for your picnic. Pizza will be served
in boxes, beer and soda in bottles and wine by the bottle or glass. We
will have mason jars available for wine, but we encourage you to bring your
own. You may supplement your picnic with any salads or other food you wish to
bring, but we ask that you not bring your own alcohol. We accept cash,
checks, credit cards, and chickens as payment.
We hope to see you soon!
